We heard you. Many of our female hirer-partners have told us that rental and platform benefits haven’t always kept pace with family planning needs. No one should feel torn between preparing for a baby and keeping a vehicle on the road. To better support you, we’re introducing two support schemes for driver-mums in Singapore: zero-penalty conclusion of rental agreements with a gynae letter and free rental days for when you’re ready to come back. Why we launched this

Becoming a parent is a big transition, and we know it can come with both joy and pressure, especially when your earnings depend on the time behind the wheel. We understand that driver-mums paying full rental while cutting back on driving is stressful, and that returning too soon can feel overwhelming.

These changes are our way of easing that load. We want to remove the worry of such penalties during pregnancy, and we want your first weeks back to feel flexible and supported rather than rushed.

What are the benefits?

First, if you are pregnant and need to step away from driving, you can conclude your active rental agreement without paying the early termination fee. Kindly present your gynae letter on clinic letterhead confirming your pregnancy at the date of termination of the rental agreement.

Once reviewed, the early termination fee will be fully waived. Please note that other items tied to your rental such as any outstanding debt including rental arrears, traffic/parking fines and accident related costs (if any) should be fully settled upon vehicle return. We’ll guide you through returning the vehicle and issuing your final statement so you can focus on what matters most.

Second, when you’re ready, come back any time in the first 6 months after your child’s birth and enjoy an additional 7 free rental days on us. We’ll help you ease back in with these free rental days. Instead of carrying full rental costs from day one, you’ll have a buffer that lets you ramp up at your own pace. Our aim is simple: give you flexibility and breathing room as you rebuild your routine.

Am I eligible for this?

1. Early termination without any fees For the zero-penalty conclusion of rental agreement, you should be a female hirer-partner in Singapore with an active rental agreement through GrabRentals. A letter or memo from any polyclinic / local hospital / certified gynecologist confirming the pregnancy is required as at the date of termination of the rental agreement. 

2. Return-to-drive incentive (7 Free Rental Days)

Free Returns for All Used vehicles for GrabCab Driver-Partners only If you return to driving with GrabCab and realise it no longer suits your lifestyle, you may opt to return your vehicle within 3 months of your new contract start date, without any termination fees incurred for all used vehicles.
